New Farm, New Pond

We are looking forward to our new purchase to add to the excellent migratory Canada Goose hunting on the Eastern Shore. We call this tract the “Little Farm” and have finished a perfect pond on that property. Thanks to our Head Guide, Tommy Tucker and his Dad, Thomas “Pond Man” Tucker for the excellent work they have done to establish this as a very nice addition to our hunting properties. This hunting site is replete with deep water well, electricity to drive ice-eaters if needed and on an excellent flyway to enhance our efforts to make your experience on the Eastern Shore top notch.

RENOVATIONS

Unfortunately for us, we cannot rest on our past success. We are now in the process of rehabilitating the pond on the Barrett Farm, putting a new pond on the Hansen Farm and hopefully putting in another pond on the Home Farm. Our interest is to make your visit with us the best possible.

ONLY SEVEN DAYS OPEN

Maryland DNR has set the dates for the 21/22 season. Dates are: Dec. 17 – Jan. 1 and Jan. 13 – Jan. 31. Currently, we have only seven hunting days open. If you have an interest, call us @ 252 394-5171 or email gwteal1@gmail.com.

NESTING SUCCESS PRETTY GOOD!

Every Spring, I monitor the temperatures, ice coverage and so on on the Ungava Peninsula in Quebec where our migratory Canada Geese nest. My nesting success studies show that the birds had a positive environment to bring off their young. Last Spring the Feds painted a bleak picture – but – we take the tail feathers from all geese we harvest to determine their ages – and – the young to adult ratio was positive. This Spring, the conditions were more positive, so we are looking for an increased population on the Eastern Shore this Winter,

LODGE AND OUTBUILDINGS RENOVATIONS CONTINUE

The Lodge (circa 1851) and outbuildings (circa 1931) on the Home Farm were constructed many years ago, but of the best of materials! So, a whole lot of work goes into reworking the buildings as we go along. I thank my wife Dorothy, my brother William, my son Wells and my son-in-law Dan for all the hard work to continue to make all these buildings better.

BEST OF THE BEST

Tommy Tucker, Head Guide, David McFarland, Guide, and Patrick Miles, Guide are the driving force towards making Wild Wings Maryland the best hunting site on the Eastern Shore. These individuals work year ‘round to make our program what it is. We work everyday to make sure your visit with us is the best.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND SUPPORT!!
